Hello
It's been a while between posts.
Tasmin, 5 has started school and Angus, 3, has started pre-kindy one day a week. It's been a very child-centred few months but that's not a bad thing. I've got to understand Tasmin's needs much better since she started school and while there have been many challenges (mainly getting her dressed, to school, and home again) things improved hugely by the end of the term. I learned that the behavioural challenges - the yelling, the crying, the refusal to move - is often just because she is very tired, hungry, or overstimulated. She's very much a sensory seeker and doesn't understand that her little body can only take so much movement and noise.
Both the children are 'picky' eaters and my decision last month to re-introduce a gluten-free dairy-free diet into our family life has meant a lot more time planning, shopping, preparing and cooking in the kitchen. It's a challenge I'm really enjoying though and I'm going to stick with it until the end of the year.
Today I made a gluten-free low-dairy lasagne, and a gluten-free chocolate fudge from
Skinny Ms (warning: it's not low-cal!).
The fudge is very sticky so I'm not sure yet if it will set for tomorrow, but we'll see. Here's what it's
supposed to look like:
So, back at my scrap desk, I decided to have a go at the
White With One challenge this month, which is white + yellow + stars and here is my page:
And the journalling:
Happy weekend!
