Sunday - return of Gandy

We have really missed Gandy around here. She would have come sooner only the kids were unwell with colds again. Tassie took full advantage of cuddle time. She likes to play family games, You be the Grandma and I'll be the baby and so on.



Angie wanted to join in the cuddles. This participation is quite new for him, and we're all cheering him on.

Saturday - Papa's table

This is a beautful little table hand crafted and built by my Papa, now passed.

In the days when furniture was lovingly hand crafted, it was the little details like these dove tailed joints that were important. I love this table.

The table was brought outside on to our deck so I could get some images of it while it still looks ok. The kids have already spilled water on it several times, and pulled at the wood that is starting to come off. I make of point of taking a photo of special things now, because nothing lasts forever. And we only have limited space in our house, anyway. For now, though, this loved table stays.

Tasmin likes to jump out her energy.

Friday

As an experiment, I seated Angus at his little table and chair for lunch, but got Daddy to sit and have a sandwich with him. It worked. He sat and finished his sandwich before toddling off.

Thursday

Ian and I had an important appointment with Angus in the morning. In the afternoon we all stopped off at our fave little gated playground not far from home, after collecting Tas from kindy care. The kids were thrilled to have both parents to play with them. Angus went up the steps and down the slide all by himself - a first. He would then do a lap of victory around the play equipment, then go again. He seemed to enjoy the bump at the bottom! Note to self - we have to remember to get a new point and shoot camera. Soon.

fabulous mum - scrapbooking layout

I have wanted to do a scrap layout using scrabble-inspired alphas in the title for ages and managed to remember this when I was putting together this page featuring my Mum. She is many things, and very very fabulous. My sister really likes this set of portraits I took of Mum after returning from a portrait exhibition in Melbourne last year. I'm really glad because I think they capture her ingenuous and fun side really well. I used a bit of Tim Holtz distress ink on the background cardstock (antique paper) plus vintage music paper from the 1920's. I found it in the local op shop last year and luckily I grabbed a few sheets because I've noticed it's all gone now. I used manila folder for the scrabble letters - that stuff is so versatile!

I did this layout a few weeks ago and really really need to scrap something today.
